Design lead for payments and post-purchase customer experience using Just Walk Out technology, Amazon's checkout-less shopping model named by Forbes to be "the greatest retail innovation of the next 30 years." Projects included receipt improvements (one of the biggest customer issues), credit card and mobile wallet authentication, self-service refunds, international expansion, age restrictions, and computer recognition of discounted products in mixed bins.

Bar raisers are experienced interviewers who have taken additional training and been approved by the BR core to lead interview loops and debriefs. The bar raiser ensures a high quality loop and has shared responsibility with the hiring manager to decide whether to hire a candidate, an offer can only move forward with approval from the bar raiser. I participated in over 350 interviews at Amazon, leading more than 100 as the bar raiser.

Organized project intake and reporting for the UX team. Led design for consolidated, scheduled, and sustainable delivery choices for the Amazon.com shopping site and apps. Initiated and drove effort to re-imagine the Amazon checkout experience for large orders and complex use cases.

Led initial research and design of a multi-application EHS (environment, health & safety) suite of tools for compliance and reporting to be used by Amazon facilities globally.

Launch team for Amazon Business, one of Amazon's fastest growing business units with nearly $3b in US sales the first year and growing to $13b over the next 3 years. 

Responsible for leading UX and UI design of multiple key business-centric features in the Amazon Business marketplace including bulk delivery, reporting and analytics, approvals, and policy architecture as well as international expansion into Germany and Japan. 

Played a key role in growing the UX team from 4 designers to over 30 individuals across multiple disciplines. Managed direct reports in Seattle and Austin.

Sole UX designer for the Product and Services Discovery team, focusing on accessorization and complete product lifecycle beyond the purchase event.

Conceptualized flows and interactions for new initiatives with warranty, installation, compatibility, product comparison and product bundles. Launched several successful products within those larger initiatives, achieving significant positive business impact for warranty and product comparison.

Managed small team of web designers, including quarterly goals, project distribution, performance evaluations and training.

Established guidelines and practices for improved workflow and documentation including design sprints, rapid prototyping and usability testing. Introduced concept of sprint backlogs using burn down charts and story points from Scrum methodology.

Personally designed/coded or supervised the design and coding of several major components of the customer facing retail website which improved both customer experience and revenue. Key projects included product detail page, header and navigation, recent history and warranty promotions.

Developed business initiatives from concept to code for a high-volume, award-winning e-commerce site. 

Made recommendations on both technical feasibility and usability impact of new proposals.

Mentored junior team members to assist their growth as designers and refine their coding skills.  

Played key roles in the development of account management, checkout, vendor portal, My Newegg, Eggxpert community site and b2b initiative.

Built and maintained templates for retail website with B2B component. 

Developed server-side modules using Mivascript, PHP and C# as needed. 

Managed successful site redesign and upgrade project working closely with internal graphic design team and external development resources. Our site was featured in the Miva developer conference the year we launched. The individual Miva plugins we created for this redesign were also successfully marketed to other e-commerce sites built on the Miva platform.

Managed small graphic design team to ensure deliverables met deadlines and quality standards.

Created printed marketing, packaging, motion graphics, internal tools and consumer web applications as needed.

Established and maintained the company’s first e-commerce platform.
