Hi! I'm Kellie Komorita (she/her) and I'm a strategic thinker with a keen eye for beautifully designed experiences—with heart. I get excited about projects that consider brand, storytelling, and experience (print and/or digital) holistically.
My experience ranges from brand, marketing, and UX design for in-house tech startups, to award-winning branding and packaging agency work for the natural consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, to freelancing and volunteering my event planning, photography, and design skills for grassroots orgs and non-profits.
As someone who has experienced work-related PTSD, I try my best to incorporate trauma-informed care in my mentorship. Telling people what to do isn't really my style. I like to dig into where you’re at, what you want, and the possible avenues to get there.
Just a few topics I'd love to talk about: Branding UX and web design ADHD and design DEI Portfolio reviews Preparing and empowering design interns and junior designers for the workforce Self-advocation in the workplace as a WOC Sustainability and print/digital design Balancing your anti-capitalist views while trying to survive in a capitalist system
I also love just geeking out about design! ☺️ Looking forward to chatting with yall! 💫✨
“Kellie was such a great mentor for me. She was able to give me detailed advice and constructive criticism in a positive way about my portfolio. She also helped me prepare for future interviews. I was very happy to meet with her.”
“Kellie was lively and gave open feedback. She gave good advice in response to questions, and was shared her career journey and the pitfalls and achievements involved. We had a great chat.”
“Kellie is extremely friendly and willing to give advice on anything. She has looked over my portfolio and given me tips as well as given me encouragement on projects that I was thinking about starting. She's even shared her terrible work experiences in order to help veer me away from bad industry choices. I highly recommend her as a mentor!”
