Sessions with Khaled Batt
- Breaking into UX (20 min): New to UX and not sure where to start? This session is for you. I came into design from a completely different field (medicine), with no traditional path and no roadmap, so I know how confusing the way in can feel. Bring whatever you're stuck on. We can talk through how to break in without a design degree, what actually matters in a junior portfolio, how to position a non-traditional background as a strength, or just the messy early questions nobody really answers. Come with a specific question or situation if you can, the more concrete, the more I can help. Looking forward to it.
- Portfolio Review (30 min): Want honest eyes on your portfolio? Bring it and let's go through it together. I'll give you direct, specific feedback, what's working, what's holding it back, and what I'd change to make it land with recruiters and hiring managers. This works best for case studies and portfolio sites, whether you're just starting one or polishing before you apply. I came into design from medicine and built my own portfolio from zero, so I know how hard it is to know if yours is actually any good. Please share your portfolio link in the booking questions so I can review it before we meet, that way we spend the whole session on feedback, not loading screens.
- Interview Prep (30 min): Got a design interview coming up? Let's get you ready. We can work through whatever's worrying you, the "tell me about yourself" story, walking through your projects, behavioral questions, or whiteboard and design challenges. I've been through a lot of these myself, including the questions you don't have a clean answer for, so I can help you build honest, strong answers from your real experience instead of generic scripts. Tell me what kind of interview you're preparing for in the booking questions so I can tailor the session. If you have a specific company or format in mind, even better.
