About Komal Agarwal

Senior Product Designer at HackerRank

Hey, there. Here's a little something about me.

I am Komal. I Enjoy creating delightful, human-centred digital experiences. A coffee lover, a crazy thinker and a multidisciplinary designer. Currently working at the crossroads of product at a Market leader in Tech Hiring - HackerRank, using tech and design to save the world from bad experiences.

I'm passionate about identifying and solving complex challenges and believe that good designs are inclusive and collaborative.

I consider myself to be a proactive designer who can either work within a peer group on a project or take sole ownership of a product and work on it from start to finish.

I am here to help young designers (give back to the community) see through the lens and understand product design for what it is, simple, intuitive, and do it in the right way rather than making a rush. :)

What mentees say

“She shared pros & cons of my approach and even started observing right from the start. She has great observation skills and also gave constructive advice.”

Vibha Polkam, Product Design at Magic Studio

“I spoke with Komal about imposter syndrome and building confidence in a new UX role. She gave me practical advice to earn the trust of stakeholders as well as assigning me homework and a timeline to build confidence in my presentation skills and offered her time to review my work and give feedback. Looking forward to our next meeting!”

Angie Halsmer, UX Designer at UX/UI Open

“Komal's honesty and transparent approach were truly refreshing, as she provided genuine and candid feedback, giving me a clear picture of the industry's realities. She didn't sugarcoat anything and offered practical advice that we could apply directly to our career paths.”
