I’m Lakshmi, and I’ve been working in software engineering and technology architecture for over 20 years, mostly in the financial services industry. Currently, I’m a Senior Lead Software Engineer at Capital One, where I focus on building large-scale systems around Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), Model Risk Management, and AI-powered platforms. Over the years, I’ve also led initiatives at companies like Bloomberg, Charles Schwab, and Worldpay, where I worked on trading systems, payments, and real-time data platforms.
Beyond my day-to-day role, I stay active in the tech community—speaking at conferences like Nordic APIs, LambdaConf, and CamundaCon, writing for DZone and Capital One’s Tech Blog, and serving as a judge/mentor for hackathons and student competitions. I’m also passionate about responsible AI—I recently filed a patent in applying Generative AI for risk and compliance.
