As Principal Product Designer and Strategist for UniGroup—the parent company of United Van Lines and Mayflower—I lead UX, product design, and digital strategy initiatives supporting critical business transformation efforts. My work modernized enterprise systems for agents, drivers, dispatchers, and relocating customers across the U.S.

Through intensive user research and system audits, I uncovered operational inefficiencies that prompted the realignment of Product and Development under IT and the CIO’s leadership. These insights positioned UniGroup for future scalability, potential acquisition, and improved operational efficiency. I partnered closely with C-level leadership, board members, and agent stakeholders to advise on frameworks that support future business aggregation and structural transitions.

My contributions to UX strategy, billing and invoicing redesigns, agent portal improvements, and scalable digital infrastructure continue to inform strategic discussions within the organization. I remain available as a trusted advisor to UniGroup’s leadership team, providing ongoing insights and support as needed.

In this field-based leadership role, I managed on-the-ground census operations across diverse communities. I gathered qualitative and quantitative data through direct user engagement and field research, reporting critical insights that influenced participation strategies for future counts and public outreach. I trained field staff, developed localized communication techniques, and optimized workflows in both high-density and rural areas. My work provided strategic insights to federal leadership and supported more inclusive and representative civic participation outcomes.

Note: This was a W2 role with the U.S. Department of Commerce where I was promoted to Senior Field Representative after supporting the 2030 Census through 2020 field research. I was deeply committed to serving overlooked and underserved communities through field research and civic outreach, working evenings and weekends to ensure full representation while committed to my full-time work during the weekdays. Unfortunately, my role was terminated after I declined to receive the COVID-19 vaccine due to medical concerns advised by my doctor following a vehicular accident. I pursued natural treatments that had been effective for me and stood by my decision with integrity. This termination was the direct result of the Executive Order issued in September 2021, which required all federal employees and contractors to be vaccinated, regardless of individual medical history or risk.

As a Senior UX Designer within USAA’s Chief Design Office, I focused on modernizing the member experience across USAA.com, particularly within the Property & Casualty (P&C) division. I collaborated cross-functionally with product owners, accessibility experts, engineers, and researchers to improve the digital storefront and create scalable, component-based design systems. My work balanced usability with legal, compliance, and regulatory considerations—ensuring members had access to clear, functional, and meaningful content.

I led redesigns for key product pages, integrated Figma workflows across teams, and worked closely with stakeholders to deliver responsive, WCAG-compliant experiences. With a strong focus on accessibility, inclusive design, and continuous optimization, my contributions helped enhance trust and clarity for millions of military-affiliated members navigating complex insurance and financial services.

Note: This role was contracted through TEKsystems. I was offered the opportunity to convert to full-time after one year but still needed to complete the formal hiring process. Before this could happen, the company initiated a hiring freeze. Upon reaching my two-year tenure, the project work was phased out and my role was effectively laid off.

As a User Experience Researcher supporting federal initiatives, I conducted research and usability testing to improve public-facing digital tools and federal databases. I analyzed how citizens interacted with census platforms and government services, uncovering barriers to accessibility, engagement, and trust. My work led to research-backed recommendations that directly influenced user flow updates and digital transformation efforts across multiple departments. Collaborating with policy experts, data scientists, and engineers, I helped shape a more human-centered, data-driven approach to government service delivery.

Note: This was a W2 role with the U.S. Department of Commerce supporting the 2030 Census through active fieldwork during the 2020 Census. The role concluded upon completion of the 2020 Census enumeration and I was subsequently promoted to Senior Field Representative.

Brought in by the creative team, I served as a consultant for Nano during a critical pivot from sanitization products to whole-life wellness solutions. I led UX and narrative support for early-stage investor presentations, collaborating closely with the founder’s team to map out product direction and backup strategies. My contributions spanned visual storytelling, brand positioning, and user-first design recommendations. I later stepped away due to fundamental misalignments in vision and direction.

My work included advising on holistic user experience strategies, refining the app’s visual identity, and mapping a dual-path UX framework to support both full launch and contingency plans. This included early stage mockups, product flows, and storytelling guidance that honored their vision of whole-life health while meeting investor expectations.

Note: This was a contract role through my business, Flow+Frames under IVEL Group, where I provided UX strategy, presentation support, and investor-facing materials for Nano’s wellness platform initiative. My contributions helped secure multi-million dollar funding rounds tied to their original whole-life health app. I completed my contracted work before the company shifted its focus, ultimately abandoning its wellness plans to pursue profit from COVID-19-related products. This pivot—widely regarded as unethical—led to the company’s financial collapse and the CEO’s departure to the Middle East. I was not involved in these later developments and remain proud of the strategy and impact I provided during the project’s original intent.

Led the UX and UI design efforts for the redesign of Toshiba’s North American Business website, now known as Toshiba America Business. Through a partnership with Allison Worldwide, I managed a team of designers and developers, overseeing the end-to-end user experience strategy while collaborating on the visual direction and interface design. The project focused on creating a modern, scalable platform that aligned with Toshiba’s enterprise-level offerings and supported intuitive navigation for B2B audiences. This role combined hands-on design work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring both creative cohesion and technical execution across teams.

Note: This was a contracted project through a partnership with Allison Worldwide under my business, Flow+Frames, a division of IVEL Group. My engagement with Toshiba was short-term, as I was brought in to solve a specific problem, establish a lasting framework, and deliver a scalable digital solution. The site remains live today with minimal maintenance requirements—an ideal outcome for any company seeking efficiency, reduced long-term costs, and meaningful ROI. This project exemplifies my ability to design systems that are not only effective but sustainable, helping companies avoid unnecessary overhead while continuing to generate value.

Legacy & Landmark is a consulting venture focused on preservation strategy, interpretive planning, and storytelling for historic sites, cultural destinations, and museums. From 2015 to 2019, I worked with Tesla as a contract designer, supporting multiple teams across the organization. My role focused on both UX and visual design, contributing to a variety of projects that ranged from internal tools to customer-facing digital experiences. I helped craft intuitive user flows and scalable interface components while also delivering high-impact visual assets for product launches and marketing campaigns.

Throughout my time there, I collaborated closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and marketing to ensure design solutions aligned with Tesla’s brand and performance standards. The work demanded speed, adaptability, and a strong eye for detail—especially in an environment that thrives on innovation and rapid iteration.

Note: My work with Tesla began as a short-term contract through a recruiting agency and quickly transitioned into a direct contract. I supported a range of projects primarily within what became Tesla Energy, and also contributed to vehicular UI components, including work tied to the Model X. I worked both remotely and onsite at Tesla’s former headquarters in Palo Alto. The culture was fast-paced, efficient, and held to the highest standards—an environment I thrived in. Unfortunately, Tesla phased out external contractors and required FT relocation to the Bay Area for continued work. Though I had spent considerable time in San Jose, I was unable to relocate long-term, and respectfully stepped away. Ironically, Tesla relocated to Austin, Texas—where I later lived—just two years afterward. I remain deeply proud of my work at Tesla, the talented people I collaborated with, and the company’s mission. Despite recent discourse surrounding Elon Musk, I stand by the integrity of Tesla’s work and leadership and would gladly work with the company again.

While working with UFC Gym through an agency partnership, I was responsible for laying the foundation of the website’s user experience and teaming up on the development of a scalable, brand-aligned UI design system. This involved close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure both functionality and visual identity were cohesive across the site.

Beyond product design, I also contributed to brand marketing strategy and helped produce engaging video content that aligned with UFC Gym’s energetic voice and values. The role required a strong mix of creative and strategic thinking, as well as the ability to move fast in a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Led the UX and UI design for Universal Music Group’s primary web presence, a project still live in its core structure more than a decade later. The design emphasized artist discovery, product accessibility, and global adaptability across diverse music markets.

Note: This project was completed through a partnership with HYFN, based out of Manhattan Beach, California, which was later acquired by another agency. The agency partnership was already in place, and I was brought in to lead user experience strategy and build the core digital framework for UniversalMusic.com. That structure remains virtually unchanged today—nearly a decade later—demonstrating the value of foundational UX thinking. Aside from the addition of new artists, labels, contracts, and press updates, the site continues to run on the same backbone. While a modern UI lift could enhance aesthetics (fonts, color updates, etc.), the architecture has proven resilient and high-performing. This is a strong example of my ability to deliver high-ROI, low-maintenance solutions by focusing on structure, user needs, and function over fleeting design trends. Universal’s site doesn’t need bells and whistles—its strength is in the music and talent it represents, and the platform supports that seamlessly.

I supported the launch of Hyatt’s redesigned loyalty program, World of Hyatt, as both a UX and UI designer. My focus was on crafting an intuitive digital experience that aligned with the values of Hyatt’s luxury brand while simplifying how users interact with loyalty features, rewards, and bookings. I collaborated closely with internal teams and external partners to create scalable, accessible, and globally adaptable UI systems that continue to influence Hyatt’s digital footprint today. From wireframes to hi-fidelity comps, I helped ensure every pixel served the user with clarity and ease.

Creative Director for the largest signage and media design firm in MENA. Oversaw immersive visual environments and digital interfaces across hospitality, government, and retail sectors. Regularly worked with leadership at LG, Emaar, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s initiatives.

Contracted in NYC to support campaign coordination and production. Played a role in aligning brand visuals with merchandising strategy, while assisting with early digital and in-store experience consistency.

Helped bring seasonal campaigns to life through UI and digital storytelling. Built layouts and micro-sites that reflected Fossil’s vintage-modern aesthetic while ensuring accessible navigation across devices.

Served as a Production Coordinator during the brand’s explosive growth. Contributed to eCommerce experience creation, product page layouts, and user flows under rapid production cycles, laying a foundation for agile UX thinking.

Worked with membership and communication teams to improve the member experience, both digitally and in-person. Helped identify usability gaps in sign-up and onboarding flows, applying my UX lens to fitness-based customer service.

At Forbes Travel Guide, I managed digital media for a global portfolio of 4-star and 5-star hospitality clients, supporting both editorial and digital transformation efforts. I laid the foundational UX and structural framework for what launched as Startle.com—Forbes Travel Guide’s digital platform—which later reverted to ForbesTravelGuide.com. Collaborating with marketing teams, hotel executives, and internal stakeholders, I helped shape a scalable, elegant, and logic-driven experience that upheld the Forbes standard. This early product initiative combined storytelling, structure, and visual design—setting the tone for the site’s enduring success.

IVEL Group is a long-standing LLC that serves as the parent brand for personal ventures and select freelance collaborations. While the group has evolved since its early days, it now functions primarily as a support structure for small businesses and passion projects that enhance my full-time UX and product leadership career. Through IVEL Group, I’ve helped companies streamline operations, improve digital experience strategy, and develop customer-focused solutions. This includes launching MonarchNomad, a research-based travel experience brand, and partnering with Fora Travel to help clients access better journey planning—all fueled by my UX background. These roles are not full-time ventures but enrich my design thinking, cultural research, and cross-industry perspective.
