Working as a designer on the Xlab team has allowed me to create visionary demos for a number of industries: from manufacturing to healthcare and higher education. 

Takeaways:
▪️ it’s important to understand the bigger picture: how to go from from as-is scenarios to visionary demos that demonstrate the capabilities of Oracle solutions. bridging the gap between what’s possible and the future, creating innovative demos that could lead the future changes taking place in various industries

▪️process matters: how you work is just as important as what you work on

▪️scaling design: Xlab went from working on 1-2 projects per year (one industry build) to 100 projects per year

▪️create high fidelity demos using Redwood, Oracle’s design system. Learning to work with a world class enterprise design system, understanding its philosophy and principles.

▪️lead the design efforts on some of the builds; especially proud of the work done on healthcare demos after Oracle’s acquisition of Cerner

Okapi Studio is an agency specializing in the design and development of digital products. Utilizing design thinking techniques, Okapi assists both entrepreneurs and established companies in conceptualizing, prototyping, and actualizing new products and services.

▪️ fell in love with journey mapping, flows and wireframing
▪️ I performed audits & research to understand how to solve the challenges our customers faced
▪️ collaborated with the management team to define product specifications & project requirements
▪️ worked closely with clients, stakeholders, PMs and developers to deliver features and products in line with the projected roadmap
▪️engaged in product development from the ground up as well as growth projects where my responsibility was to scale existing design artifacts to meet the expanding business requirements
▪️ participated in several high-pressure, short-term projects, contributing to all aspects of the design process
