I work as a Backend Engineer on the commerce platform of the company, developing a service that processes several millions of requests per day and has an impact on more than 200 million users worldwide. I played a leading role for my team on several company-wide initiatives, like the launch of the Audiobooks in Premium plan in several markets, where I influenced the evolution of the service owned by my team and contributed to the technical alignment among different engineering teams.

I have been the first engineer of the Data Platform team where I maintained the legacy data system while giving a fundamental contribution to the evolution of the company towards a data-driven one. My responsibilities comprehend the design and implementation of the data pipelines, the CI/CD of the transformation layer, the implementation of tools to help data analysts as well as the management of the data warehouse.

I contributed to the design and implementation of a microservices-based application deployed in AWS. My focus has been mainly on the ingestion process to let the application import a metadata catalog into the internal graph database. I was in charge of the design and maintenance of the ingestion pipeline, where I had a key role in improving the performance to 2x/3x.

My research focused on Self-Adaptive Decentralised Systems. The main achievement is the creation of a tool to orchestrate a microservice application based on Docker containers in a decentralized way (Gru), making them scale autonomously to adapt to variation in the workload. I also worked as a teaching assistant, and I supervised undergraduate students in their thesis projects.

web technologies, with focus on the module for managing users to improve its
features and scalability.
