I founded EPD Engineering Solutions after 25 years in engineering, working my way up from fabricator to General Manager with full P&L accountability. EPD is a mechanical engineering design and project management consultancy, giving engineering, fabrication and automation SMEs the external capacity, specialist input or independent reset they need when a project has stalled or in-house resource is stretched. The whole business runs on one principle: we own delivery fully, treat every job with the same diligence as if it were our own, and clients never pay for our mistakes. I bring that same direct, accountable approach to mentoring.

Full operational and commercial leadership of a fabrication and installation business delivering mechanical systems across FMCG, automotive, rail, aerospace and construction. Responsible for quotations, resource planning, site delivery, P&L performance and health and safety. Generated £110k of quoted work and converted around £70k through direct cold outreach in the first month, while managing client relationships and resolving delivery issues across multiple live accounts.

Full operational and commercial leadership of a UK automation and materials handling business within an Italian owned group. Delivered turnkey automation and conveyor programmes from concept through commissioning and handover for automotive OEM and critical national infrastructure clients. Built commercial controls, supplier frameworks and cost rate discipline where none existed. Held management representative responsibility for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 throughout, owning the QMS, internal audits and external certification visits, alongside full cost, schedule and risk accountability across the programme portfolio.

Progressed over nine years from Mechanical Fitter and Fabricator Welder through Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Applications Engineer before appointment as Engineering Manager, leading a 25 person mechanical design department across automotive, parcel handling, FMCG and general manufacturing. Responsible for technical governance, design standards and resource management across concurrent programmes, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Selected for the L3 Harris Talent Programme as a Technical Director pipeline candidate.
