About Meet Thakkar
Senior Software Engineer at Meta platforms Inc
I'm a Senior SWE at Meta (5 years) working on ads infrastructure across WhatsApp and Messenger. Before Meta I was at a smaller startup doing firmware engineering for first responder communication devices, and before that I ran my own consulting business in India called Thakkar Consultants.
At Meta I lead a group of engineers within my team, and over the years I've worked closely with engineers at all levels - new grads figuring out how to operate in a big company, mid-levels trying to get to senior, and even some senior engineers where we'd go deep on specific problems together like distributed systems design or privacy engineering.
Outside of work I'm actively mentoring a few startup founders on the technical and product side. It's a different kind of mentoring but honestly equally interesting.
I grew up in India and moved to the US to build my career here.
Happy to talk to anyone working in backend/distributed systems, or honestly anyone navigating career growth at a tech company.
Notice: All the mentoring and interactions I provide are free.
