UX Lead at IQVIA
I’m originally from Nashville, TN, but I’ve been in Atlanta long enough to be considered an ATLien. I have a B.F.A. in Fine Art and Design from Hampton University. My “design career” started in 8th grade when I began working on digital projects for friends of my parents. By the time I reached my sophomore year of high school, I was pretty sure about what I wanted to do for a living. I simply enjoy what I do – solving problems and helping people. I have experience working within different industries: finance, non-profit, manufacturing, government, talent acquisition, human resources, insurance and healthcare, mainly in enterprise UX environments.
I also have a real passion for music. Mainly House Music (real House Music) and Detroit Techno. I also love to go kayak-fishing, hiking and camping. My other passion is volunteering. I have volunteered as an Adult Leader with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, a Mentor with Girls Who Code and I currently sit on the board for Paddle-4-Tomorrow: an organization who’s mission is to introduce disadvantaged children to the outdoors and outdoor activities.
“Melba was great to talk to! She has such great energy which is contagious. She gave me great advice on my portfolio and I appreciated the feedback.”
“Melba was the first mentor I booked on ADPList and I'm glad I did. I answered all the questions she requested and we went over everything from my goals to my portfolio. I look forward to check-in with her in the future. Highly recommend booking some time with her.”
“Melba is the absolute BEST. I reached out to her when I started my first design job as a "lone wolf designer" and she has been nothing but a wealth of resource and support. She has also been a great support with my job search. Melba keeps it real and treats you as a friend and an equal, which makes her incredibly easy to talk to and feel immediately comfortable around.”
