Lead Product Designer at thortful
Hi, I’m Melissa, a Senior Product Designer based in London with over 10 years of experience designing digital products and experiences. Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a range of organisations, from early-stage startups to established agencies, helping teams solve complex problems and create user-centred solutions.
One of the things I’m most passionate about is supporting the next generation of UX and Product Designers. Whether you’re looking to break into the industry, progress your career, or refine your craft, I love helping designers build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve their goals.
I offer introductory mentoring sessions where we can chat about your aspirations, challenges, and what you’re looking for from a mentor. For those seeking ongoing support, I also provide longer-term mentoring focused on areas such as portfolio development, case studies, CV reviews, interview preparation, and career growth. Together, we can create a plan tailored to your goals—and perhaps enjoy a cup of tea along the way.
I’d love to hear more about your journey and how I can help. I look forward to connecting with you.
“I had a great experience with Melissa! She was on time and well prepared, gave me a detailed and genuinely thoughtful portfolio review, and I really appreciated that she stayed a few extra minutes to finish our discussion rather than watching the clock. It felt like she was genuinely invested in helping me. I only wish I had booked a session with her sooner!”
“My session with Melissa was great! She answered questions I had about my career in e-commerce and it was definitely very helpful. She is also really positive and supportive!”
“The mock interview was an invaluable experience that provided me with insightful feedback and preparation tips from the interviewer's viewpoint. I found this practice opportunity extremely beneficial for my personal improvement. Melissa's detailed feedback was incredibly valuable, and I appreciate her time and input. Thank you!”
