About Michael Brownlee

Hi I’m Michael, a UX/UI Designer who specialises in developing startup platforms and helping to build a company culture that puts the user first. With over nine years of experience, I've worked alongside some industry leaders in enhancing their products while evolving their teams to be more collaborative and empathising more with their customers.

Over those nine years, I've become passionate about changing company culture to advocate for UX. From running workshops that help educate the team to visiting customers in their environment to truly understand their problems and goals and share these insights with the rest of the company. Insights are then stored in User Research Repositories to prevent siloed information and repeated research while being accessible to everyone.

I use a mixture of Design Thinking, Lean UX, and Scrum/Agile methodologies to help drive projects from problems to solutions. We learn, fail, succeed and evolve while having the team aligned in the same direction and empathising with our customers.

After graduating with a B.Sc Web Systems Development degree, I started my career as a Web Developer. I transitioned my career from development to UX design after discovering my passion for building products that work for everyone.
