Hello everyone,

I'm Michael Hacker, CEO & Founder of LedgerWriter, where I engineer event-driven primitives for durable software products at the edge.

I've been building software since 2012, working across software engineering, systems architecture, infrastructure, and product development. My work has taken me around the world and across a broad range of products and technical environments.

My focus is Architectural Engineering and Systems Design: understanding how a system actually operates, identifying the boundaries that matter, and turning those observations into durable software primitives.

At LedgerWriter, that work centers on event-driven architecture, CQRS, durable state, and systems that preserve the history of what happened rather than treating state as disposable. I'm particularly interested in the intersection of software architecture and the way organizations actually work—the commands, decisions, events, aggregates, and projections that emerge from real operational environments.

I also enjoy mentoring engineers and builders working through difficult architectural and product problems. I believe good mentoring is collaborative: the goal isn't simply to transfer knowledge, but to develop better ways of reasoning about systems, tradeoffs, and the products we build.
