Design Lead at Asana
I'm just a guy from Chicago who sometimes feels like he fell his way backwards into Product Design (industry secret: everyone feels this way). I started my career working at a church, moved my way into graphic design, and now do product design work that is used by hundreds of millions of people every day. I love what I get to do for work, but someday I also want to open up a coffee shop that also sells Vespa scooters. It's kind of a weird dream, I know.
βMike is a very kind and insightful mentor. He shared his experience of how he built up his design career and how he ended up being at Twitter now. I appreciated his patience and careful review of my portfolio. looking forward to having another session with him in the near future!β
βMike is an awesome mentor, I've booked many sessions with him and all of them have been insightful. He gave me great feedback on what changes I can make to my portfolio and gave me the confidence to put myself out there as a product designer. I think the greatest thing is that Mike really believed in me and my ability to design. I appreciate Mike and all the tips and tricks he's given me.β
βMike is a brilliant and well-rounded mentor, he took the time to outline the varying roles within tech, helping connect my strengths and affinities with corresponding roles, so that I may best market my skills while staying true to the responsibilities I enjoy most. He left me with valuable insight that was both genuine and actionable.β
