Led the progressive team that built and delivered [Ground Up and for the 1st time in any Indian Telco] Consumer IOT business line.

Propositions covering high growth Smart Home, Smart Car Telematics, Pet and Child Tracking and Personal Asset Tracking segments. 

This challening role included delivering the Tech Stack integrating Connectivity, Security and SIM Management, Fully built out Digital Experiences, Service Delivery and Hardware Vendor Management.  

Led the Marketing, Sales, Product, Digital, Customer Service, Vendor Management and Extended Teams. 

Raised capex internally as an Intrapreneur. 

Owned and Managed the P & L.

In this role, I report  to the Managing Director and CEO of Vodafone, India and work for his office. Key responsibilities include working on and managing strategic agenda, operational governance,  driving new telco businesses and key projects apart from others.

This challenging role provides excellent exposure across verticals including finance, technology, statutory and commercial functions and covers the full scale and depth of operations. 

Most importantly helps me develop valuable strategic perspective and insight on top of my operational experience across Digital, Business Development, Partner Management, Customer Value Management,  Marketing and Sales.

In this role, I carried the responsibilities of building and commercializing consumer digital experiences end to end for Vodafone customers in India. This called for extensive cross vertical coordination, deep integration with tech teams and vendors and working in a start-up like, agile environment and hone my entrepreneurial mindset.   

Mandate delivered as below:

1.Hire, lead and manage a set of high performing Digital resources [UI, Production, Digital Self-Care, NPS, Product, Analytics, SEO, SEM ] to build a Center of Digital Excellence. 
2. Mobile, Web and App Commerce thru store fronts and simplified purchase journeys.
3.Build and manage work streams that bring together the physical and digital assets of the business to deliver superior commercial and experience outcomes.
4.Call deflection from conventional channels to Digital self-care/assisted-care interfaces [Bottom Line Drivers], drive up percentage of digital transactions [Save commission pay outs to MBOs and Channels]Customer Value Management [DCVM] – Drive next best actions, bring context and content into play, drive digital only limited period offers and create and manage the digital marketing calendar.
6.Digital Marketing – Driving adoption and growth; amplifying brand messages thru an integrated plan. Manage the digital marketing budget.
7.Integrate with Brand to deliver key messages and propositions on Digital – create and bring to life use cases to leverage Brand Network Promise, [Call Drop Reimbursement Guarantees], Speed Tests, Crowdsourcing Cell Sites, Leverage Segment intelligence to drive customer engagement.  
8.Drive Lead generation and fulfilment, pack upsell, X sell, upward plan migrations.
9.Track and grow digital TNPS [Touch Point Net Promoter Score] across Web and APP channels. 
10. Deliver differentiated Ui/x for Pre Paid, Post Paid and segment propositions.

In this progressive, forward looking marketing role, I was responsible for bringing to life exciting propositions for customers with partners while working closely with cross functional teams to build internal techno commercial capabilities to drive up customer value and revenue on Mobile Internet.

Mandate delivered includes:  

A.  Revisit and reassess Telco capabilities to support rapid mobile internet growth, accelerate digital adoption and enable key experiences to drive commercial outcomes.
B. Build and execute a roadmap of capabilities to launch customer propositions, real time data charging, contextual alerts, online purchase, pricing and charging capabilities etc.
C. Identify and partner with OTT and other players to build and take to market commercially viable propositions
D. Collapse thru customer insights and technology all known barriers to mobile internet adoption 

Propositions launched: 

1. Global debut of the twitter android app in VF India
2. Bundled propositions with WhatsApp – All access bundle along with WhatsApp
3. Bundled propositions with Facebook – Facebook share@once – buy VF products within the Facebook timeline experience, Facebook data bundles.
4. Bundled propositions with YouTube, Exploration of video downloads during off peak hours with appropriate pricing.
5. Content integrations with OTT music players – White label music apps.
6. Integrations with Opera browser – Monetize browsers – Sponsored passes/Web passes.
7. Pricing interventions on data with Step Throttling, Post Pack roll over bundles, integrated, pooled propositions.
8 .Driving the execution plan of the Vodafone Global product roadmap 
9. Contextual USSD – Real time recommendations
10.  The guardian APP –Parental control
11. The password manager app – Drive customer stickiness by having all passwords in one place (accessible only on the VF network)

Business Delivery:

A.	Ground up business planning to launch Aircel in Gujarat. Ownership of Distribution, Sales and Marketing.
B.	Championed a Mobile Internet led Go To Market strategy to establish Aircel as the most preferred Mobile Internet Brand in Gujarat.
C.	Significantly contributed to delivering several benchmarks on Mobile Internet nationally:

1. VAS Revenue to GROSS REVENUE ratios substantially higher than national averages
2. Mobile Internet handset acquisition and retention higher than national averages
3. Mobile Internet user conversion substantially higher than national average
4. Pioneered the screen size driven content matrix to enhance user experience and maximize revenues on Mobile Internet.
5. Conceptualized and launched innovative solutions to battle market clutter, noise and personalized communication to multi SIM customers.   

Nov 2008 to May 2010 – AGM and Acquisitions and U and R Head, Aircel, AP (18 Months)

Business Delivery:

A.	Working closely with the sales team to build ground up product portfolio and acquisition market planning to launch Aircel in Andhra Pradesh. Ownership of Prepaid and Post Paid verticals.
B.	Setting up Usage and Retention processes, streamlining revenue delivery, and network and extraction strategy.
C.	Benchmark delivery on ARPU during the period across the country.

Feb 2005 to Feb 2007 – Product Manager, Value Added Services, Vodafone, AP

Business Delivery:
A.	121% Annual operating plan target achievement led by innovation and on ground execution.
B.	VAS revenue growth @ 75% YOY (2005 360 MN Vs 2006 630 MN)
C.	VAS revenue as a % to GR highest across 16  Vodafone circles (Oct, Nov 2006)
D.	Launched and Industry First - Daily rental CRBT @ Re 1 to address low balance base. 

Feb 2007 to Nov 2008 – Senior Manager, Product Vodafone, AP 

Business Delivery:
E.	100%+ delivery on revenue on postpaid. 
F.	Highest net ARPU growth across Vodafone circle nationally Q1 2007 to Q1 2008. (3rd highest ARPU across Vodafone rest of 2008)
G.	Only circle to grow Average Revenue per User and Revenue per Minute at the same time during the period. (RPM up from 51p to 54p)
H.	Expert at subscriber segmentation, churn and credit risk management.
I.	Delivered custom solutions to several corporate clients Ex GENPACT thru Vodafone enterprise solutions vertical.

ACL Wireless was and still remains a pioneer in instant messaging over multiple channels across the globe. I joined them to lead pre sales linking and translating customer demand/requirements into technical and marketing outputs [Our offering was mostly white label]. Within a short while, I was promoted to General Manager - Marketing overseeing a larger scope of delivery including positioning, pricing and GTM.

Business Results:

1. On target delivery on revenue and marketing outcomes
2. Pitched and closed sales across several mobile operators in Middle East and Latin America on white label chat services across various platforms (WAP, DP5, SMS) 
3. Delivered marketing campaigns to drive adoption of chat services and ultimately monetize traffic across streams.
4. Worked closely with technical teams to deliver high quality pre sales and after sales support to diverse clients across geographies.

During college, I started off a venture named Maccess Vibes (Maximum Access Vibes) - An integrated marketing communications and solutions hotshop. During dot com and Y2K boom, a lot of my clients largely in the IT training, certification and services space were challenged with market clutter and intense competition. 

I eventually sold off this hotshop.

Maccess Vibes helped them position themself appropriately, create and communicate a clear benefit set and build and execute an effective GTM.
