• Built out a new product group to deliver tools and technologies to enable Indeed's developers and designers on 100+ product teams worldwide to ship delightful experiences to customers
• Developed and executed product strategy and roadmap to evolve Indeed's Design System

Responsible for product development of Blurb’s self-publishing platform, including selling and distribution tools for authors, as well as product marketing and conversion optimization of Blurb’s website.

 • Directed a team of product, content, and production professionals to mobile-optimize the Blurb website and reposition Blurb as a self-publishing platform for creatives. 
 • Implemented a test-and-learn website optimization strategy which reversed a decline in performance and resulted in a 30% increase in authors choosing to get started with Blurb.
 • Led a team of product and user experience professionals to optimize the marketplace experience for buyers and sellers of printed books and ebooks, including social marketing tools and e-commerce.

Responsible for extending Blurb’s capabilities for self-published authors, including tools for authors to sell directly to their audience via the Blurb publishing platform, as well as print and ebook distribution beyond Blurb.

 • Conceived of and led the initiative to enable self-published authors to distribute art and photography books via the Blurb publishing platform on Amazon.com.
 • Developed and implemented the best-of-breed distribution channel for Blurb authors to reach all major book retailers by negotiating and integrating a partnership with Ingram Content Group. 
 • Added a new line of standard book formats to support the needs of self-published authors. Delivered double the expected volume in its first year.

Led product and user experience for an e-commerce marketplace for independent sellers of new and used books, music, and movies, as well as rare and collectible titles.

•	Developed product strategy and managed the product roadmap to develop iterative, measurable improvements to the core user experience of the leading independent marketplace for booksellers.
•	Led a multi-disciplinary team responsible for product strategy, product/project analytics, business requirements, information architecture, interaction design, usability, content strategy, content development, visual design, and front-end coding (CSS, HTML) in a scrum environment.
•	Delivered a major overhaul of the search experience based on user research and needs analysis.
•	Drove a community engagement strategy to bring together people who love books with independent booksellers from around the globe.
•	Drove the launch of major cross-functional initiatives to expand product breadth and international reach: enhanced music & movies, video games, a U.K. site, and a community section.

Independent consultant for interaction design and user experience projects.

•	Interaction Design & User Experience: As part of a Web site redesign, created user profiles, navigation, site map, and wireframes for a subscription Web site that allows electronic parts buyers to search, select, and purchase parts for engineering projects.
•	Content Strategy: Researched and reported on using learning content on a consumer Web site to encourage trust and loyalty for a major manufacturer of electronic products for the home and home office. 
•	Documentation: Planned, developed, and wrote content for a 225-page user's guide for a complex suite of online tools that allow managers at nonprofit organizations to manage their member databases and create online communication, advocacy, and fundraising campaigns.
•	Business Analysis/Strategy: Created an economic model to determine the gross margin effect of changing shipping rates and policies for an online bookseller. Managed the project to implement the functional and shipping rate changes.

Led user experience and product management for an e-commerce marketplace for independent sellers of new and used books, music, and movies, as well as rare and collectible titles.

•	Directed functionality, content, and graphic development for e-commerce and vendor-support Web sites.
•	Led weekly development cycles for cross-functional Web development team to consistently deliver major company initiatives on schedule.
•	Initiated and developed Web projects and collaborated with technology team on implementation.
•	Worked with other directors to develop company-wide processes, procedures, and tools for team-based project management.
•	Managed relationships with external graphic designers and writers, and commissioned Web-related content.
•	Provided editorial services for corporate, vendor, and customer communications.
•	Advocated quality customer experience for Web products.

•	Built and developed a content team and editorial practices within a start-up environment.
•	Established editorial, community, production, and promotional processes.
•	Provided information architecture and project management to consolidate three Alibris Web sites as one.
•	Implemented and protected brand attributes in Web development and customer communications.
•	Planned & implemented content migration to a new platform for 1000-page e-commerce Web site.

Managed the content development and data entry staff for the books division of a business-to-business provider of media information, metadata, and digital preview samples that enable search, discovery, and purchase of music, movie, and book content.

•	Implemented a productivity tracking system that more than doubled the output of the team. 
•	Worked closely with marketing and technology departments to define and deliver new products.
•	Collaborated with software development staff to create a new editorial input system.
•	Worked with Muze Professional Services to consult customers on using Muze data for online bookstores, including Yahoo! and ABA Book Sense.

Developed content and classifications for romance, science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and horror books.

Created and maintained key relationships with publishers.
