Supporting designers and leading design in the Growth Collective.

In 2021 I organised teams around business outcomes and led them on two discoveries to find a market fit for new services and imaging new futures on a core Co-op service. I have applied leading-edge design thinking techniques to rapidly gather insight, map and identify opportunity spaces to ideate around. We then test those opportunities with users to gain confidence in a new strategic direction that influences wider business decisions. It is a complex role that requires coaching a team through ambiguity whilst managing many stakeholders expectations and doing the right thing for the user—a true systems thinking approach.

I led design across 3 product teams, collaborating with my engineering and product partners to ensure we applied user first outcome orientated design to our agile workflows. I was also responsible for delivering the digital re-brand and propositional changes during the 2020 relaunch of Co-op Membership.

I am responsible for scaling and leading the UX and Interaction design community at Co-op. Under my stewardship, the team has tripled in size, and I have championed inclusivity and diversity in our design principles and recruitment process.

I worked within agile, multidisciplinary teams, in short, bi-weekly sprints to develop the strategic design approach for high profile clients such as BBC and Sofaworks. DJ recording hardware producer Evermix approached Play to build on their idea of a unique platform for DJs. Over six weeks of intense design sprints, we developed two strategies for the DJ experience using the hardware and app and a music discovery service for listeners and rapidly developed them into beta prototypes.
