About Niels Koelmeyer

Lead Product Designer at Qonto

Hey there!

I'm Niels, a Danish Product Designer now based in Bordeaux, France. I started out as a Product Manager but found my calling as a designer.

From that point on, my career has brought me across a whole host of industries, from fast-paced start-ups environments to enterprise-grade B2B software, I've had a blast designing products that people love.

There's no logical progression to my career, I've mainly been driven by my motivation and passion for design - anything from doing user research, running an effective work to pixel pushing and coding prototypes.

My adventures have taken me across four countries: Denmark, Australia, the United Kingdom, and now, France. While I've dabbled in freelancing, I currently hold the position of Lead Designer at fintech firm, Qonto. Here, I spearhead major projects and emphasize internal training and mentoring.

Chat with me about anything from building a strong portfolio, handling work-life balance, moving countries, following your passion and general career advice.

Are you new to design and / or want to break into the industry, hit me up. I always enjoy helping out designers getting their break.
