About Nikhil Mungale
Product Manager at IBM
I've spent twenty years working my way up the stack — from deploying SMS and billing platforms inside live telecom networks, to running a Hadoop data lake platform, to building data and AI/ML products at GE HealthCare. Today I'm a Product Manager at IBM, focused on developer-facing infrastructure: previously at Red Hat as Principal Product Manager, I built the self-directed trial and learning experiences for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Podman Desktop and Image mode for RHEL. Most of my career has been spent on the unglamorous question: why do people bounce off a good product in the first hour? That's what I'm best at helping with. I mentor engineers and pre-sales folks moving into product, and PMs working on enterprise, infrastructure and developer tools — a discipline with far fewer mentors than consumer or SaaS PM. I made the jump without an MBA or a FAANG logo, so if you're mid-career and wondering whether your background counts, let's talk.
