About Oly Su
Product Designer at Canva
I’m currently a product designer at Canva, designing for our dev ecosystem. My specialty is a technical product designer who navigates complex systems, and designs for developers to empower the users. I was also a full-stack engineer for parts of my career, and I loved being able to build my designs with frontend stacks like TypeScript and ReactJS. I can help with portfolio designs, strategies on designing for complex projects, and career advice.

What mentees say
“Oly brought something I didn't expect from a mentorship session. A completely new way of thinking. Instead of answering my questions directly, he reframed how I was looking at the problem altogether. His approach of working backwards from the outcome changed how I think about my career progression and where to focus my energy.”
“I’d recommend Oly to any junior or entry-level developer. He provides a lot of practical insight that education often misses, while also helping with the basics like polishing your resume and improving your interview skills. He has genuine enthusiasm for helping you succeed, and that comes through in how encouraging his advice is.”
“Just had my first session with Oli, what a great mentor! He gave clear, practical advice on my portfolio and resume, and generously shared his own work to show how each slide tells a story. I especially appreciated his tips on tailoring portfolios for different companies and linking design to business goals.”
