VP of Product Design at AlphaSense
Future-thinker, cognitive designer, humanist, technologist, design systems advocate, data evangelist, student of AI, Lego enthusiast
I'm a cognitive design leader + maker / breaker of things.
Driven by constant curiosity, I put things together, tear them apart, and refine / re-architect them to be smarter, more accessible, intuitive, usable, and have a purpose. Ultimately, my goal is to help make people's lives better through innovation.
I'm passionate about humanizing design — holistically building intelligent products from the ground up or improving existing ones. I focus on the psychology of the user experience, human cognition and the streamlining of human-computer interactions supported through extensive testing and user research — creating a bridge between technology, people and human capabilities. I have over 25 years of experience in building, leading, mentoring, and developing global multidisciplinary design teams.
I express my fascination with good design through collaborating with like minds to solve complex problems for good. A strategist by nature, I’m equal parts future-thinker, humanist, technologist, data advocate, and student of systems design logic. I love a good challenge.
“As someone who is making a career pivot, I met with Paul to receive feedback on my work and discuss the UX field. As demonstrated in our session, he is very knowledgeable of the UX practice and provided great insight into the UX role within a product team. I really appreciate him taking time to meet with me and highly recommend his down to earth mentorship!”
“Paul Haupt is one of the most humble design leaders I have met. He listened patiently to all my questions, reviewed my work, and then gave me some very valuable insights into the industry. He has a wealth of experience and I was happy I scheduled a session with him. I got feedback on my work, improved my presentation and resume after the session. I look forward to staying connected with him.”
“I was introduced to Paul through my UX/UI bootcamp. I am so grateful for that experience because I was then able to contact him directly to schedule a time to meet and discuss the world of UX even further. Paul, having had so much experience in a Human Centered Design world, was able to give genuine insight on the topic.”
