I started the UX Researchers' Guild to help researchers who want to work as freelancers or independent contractors. Most do it to increase their freedom and control, but the business aspects (think sales and marketing) can be overwhelming. The Guild can help lift this burden, freeing members to do more research. I mentor UX researchers who want to become independent, to help them transition successfully.
