About Rio Kiantara

Head of Research at ASEAN-BAC

Hi, I’m Rio — part researcher, part strategist, part AI governance nerd. I work at the intersection of AI, policy, market research, and business strategy, helping organizations turn complex problems into clear insights, practical frameworks, and real-world action.

Over the years, I’ve worked with governments, regional organizations, universities, startups, and companies across Southeast Asia and Japan on topics like AI governance, digital transformation, responsible AI adoption, market intelligence, and strategic research. I also lead research initiatives, design workshops, mentor younger professionals, and occasionally turn messy ideas into polished decks that somehow make sense.

I can help you with:

Breaking into research, consulting, AI policy, or strategy roles Improving your CV, LinkedIn, portfolio, or personal positioning Designing better research projects, interview guides, and insight reports Communicating complex ideas clearly to stakeholders Preparing for presentations, workshops, and client meetings Navigating early-career growth with more confidence and less overthinking

Think of me as someone who can help you connect the dots between research, strategy, technology, and your next career move.
