About Ruolan

Product designer at Zeplin

Hey I'm Ruolan! I'm the 2nd Product Designer at a startup called Zeplin, which is a platform focusing on Designer to Developer collaboration, and it's also a plugin for the popular design platform Figma.

Prior to that, I worked as a Senior Product Designer at Intuit QuickBooks for 3 years. Back then, my focuses included QuickBooks Mobile app, web app, and Design system.

I'm a type of designer who design for "scratching our own itch" or "eating our own dog food". That said, helping users is helping ourselves, and vice versa. Living and breathing the product by ourselves matters a lot in my design thinking process.

Over the 5 years in the industry, gradually I discovered the areas that I want to further develop, which are Design for Collaboration experience and Design for productivity.

When not at work, I'm running a side project on Instagram named @four_chars. If you are into a magical combination of Chinese words + quirky images, check it out!

🐝Fun fact: I have been living in 12 different home addresses since I went abroad in 2015.
