About Santosh Jaini

Database Engineer IV at ATT

Hi I am Santosh Jaini, a seasoned Database Engineer IV with over 11 years of progressive experience in database engineering, DevOps, and enterprise-level data architecture. My core expertise lies in IBM DB2 UDB/LUW, where I’ve worked extensively across administration, performance tuning, replication, backup and recovery, and high availability (HADR, TSA, clustering). I’ve also been a trusted consultant in SAP environments and managed massive VLDB systems in OLTP, OLAP, and Data Warehouse contexts.

My background includes deep hands-on involvement in implementing robust data strategies, automating database operations with shell scripting, and ensuring secure, resilient data platforms across Linux/UNIX systems. I’ve supported complex migrations, led production support for critical 24x7 systems, and worked closely with IBM’s support teams on diagnostics and optimization.

In addition to my database and DevOps roles, I’ve explored the intersection of data and AI/ML. I’ve published numerous technical articles and authored a book on emerging technologies—helping bridge the gap between traditional data systems and next-gen innovations.

As a mentor, my goal is to share practical, experience-driven insights to help others succeed. Whether you’re starting your journey in database engineering, transitioning into DevOps, or curious about integrating AI/ML into your workflow, I can help guide you. I enjoy helping mentees understand real-world database design, solve performance issues, navigate career transitions, and build confidence in both technical and soft skills.

I believe mentoring is about honest conversations, shared learning, and growth. If you're looking for guidance on complex DB2 concepts, DevOps practices, career development, technical writing, or becoming more confident in your role, I’m here to support you with actionable advice and a collaborative mindset.

Let’s work together to level up your skills and reach your goals.
