Sessions with Saurav Majumder

  • General Mentorship Session (30 min)
  • Career Q&A: What Should I Do Next? (30 min): For students, new grads, career switchers and engineers at any level. Bring one or two questions: choosing between offers or teams, getting to the next level, big tech versus startups, or growing when you feel stuck. I have spent 12+ years in industry and grew from engineer to Principal Engineering Manager on Microsoft Teams, so I can speak to how levels, promotions and visibility work inside large companies. You will leave with two or three concrete next steps.
  • Resume and LinkedIn Review (30 min): For software engineers and engineering managers preparing for their next role. I read resumes the way a hiring manager does in the first 30 seconds, then we go line by line. We focus on impact: turning tasks into results, adding scale and numbers, and making the top third of the page do the work. You will leave with a prioritized list of fixes. Please share a resume link at least two days ahead, with your phone number and home address removed.
  • Engineer to Engineering Manager (45 min): For senior engineers and tech leads deciding whether management is right for them, or preparing for the move. I made this transition on Microsoft Teams and have since helped engineers on my teams grow into leads. We can cover whether management fits you, how to build leadership experience before the title, what changes in your first 90 days, and how to keep your technical credibility. You will leave with a plan for the next three months.
  • Manager Clinic: Bring a Real Situation (45 min): For new and growing engineering managers. Bring one live situation and we will work through it together: a hard feedback conversation, an underperforming engineer, a promotion case for someone on your team, running useful 1:1s, hiring, or managing up. I lead an engineering team at Microsoft and have coached engineers through promotions and a performance turnaround. Expect a practical plan and wording for your next conversation, not theory.
  • Shipping AI Agents at Scale (45 min): For engineers, tech leads and product builders taking an AI agent or LLM feature from prototype to production. I lead the platform team behind AI agent experiences in Microsoft Teams, a product with 320M+ monthly users. Good topics: platform architecture for agents, rollout and preview strategy, reliability and observability, permissions and admin controls, and what drives adoption once an agent ships. My depth is the platform around the model, not model training or prompt tuning. I can't discuss unreleased Microsoft work. Bring an architecture sketch or a decision you are stuck on.
