Joining PlanetScale was an amazing opportunity to build a world class brand around a emerging tier 1 startup. The go-to-market strategy evolved quickly as we aimed to communicate the value of Vitess to enterprises while continuing to educate the market. I built early stage digital content, refreshing the existing brand across web pages, marketing collateral, video animations, and trade show print materials.

We then pivoted toward a developer oriented SaaS tool with new messaging and market positioning. I worked exclusively with Sam Lambert (then VP of Product, now CEO) to ship a new branding that would help tell our unique story. Responsible for our new pitch deck I helped secure our $50M funding round to fuel our next leg of growth and then focused on building a new website, brand identity, video content and early product mockups. As our design team expanded we collectively refined this new brand as well as built a joint design system shared between both product design and brand/marketing to help align user experiences.

Creative Director and former Senior Principal Designer at Zuora. I was responsible for the visual identity development of Zuora across many phases of the company's maturation since 2012. Helping humanize the identity and experience of this B2B enterprise business with a more relatable personable brand. Design impacts across global campaigns, digital marketing and web, brand developement, social, product UI, global events, strategy, video, motion and photography. This was a highly cross-functional role spanning marketing, product, HR, and customer success ensuring a cohesive brand experience for employees, prospects and customers alike.

• Content marketing
• Demand generation campaigns
• Social media branding
• Visual storytelling
• Project management

Tasked with managing the interactive media team and creative design team I oversee the direction of the corporate website while supporting global brand development with creative direction. My core duties included supplying creative support on both local and international efforts across demand-generation, field marketing and product UI/UX. Activities ranged from working on scaling the design system, web page layouts, ebooks, display ads, print creative, magazine design, and UI designs for product. Highly demanding, fast-paced, hands-on activities were normal part of my role requiring the balance of a design eye for detail with deadline sensitivity. Zuora pushed my capability and moulded me into a valuable marketing leader. Well respected by peers, direct reports and management I push a productive team leadership work ethic with all my projects.
