About Soheil Alizadeh

Senior Software & Platform Engineer at Funstage

I help people build real engineering capability: understanding the actual problem, reasoning across systems, making sound technical trade-offs, and taking ownership from requirement to production.

I’m a senior software and platform engineer with about 10 years of experience across software engineering, DevOps, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, observability, reliability, and distributed systems. More recently, I’ve focused deeply on AI-agent engineering, particularly reliability, evaluations, tool use, and request-to-delivery workflows.

I work with people at different stages: those trying to break into engineering or move from support and operations into engineering; early-career engineers building stronger fundamentals; and experienced engineers working through architecture, platform, reliability, or AI problems.

My mentorship is diagnostic and hands-on. We start from your actual situation rather than a generic roadmap. I ask questions, surface blind spots, explain the fundamentals behind the problem, and use real projects, systems, or decisions as the learning context. The goal is to help you become more independent in how you reason and engineer.

I’m an OpenTelemetry maintainer and a .NET Foundation member. On ADPList, I’ve completed 90+ sessions and more than 4,700 minutes of mentorship, with recognition including Top 1% Mentor and multiple Top 10 placements.

My own path into engineering was not linear. I started working young, taught myself English through technical material, entered software engineering through self-study, and later moved internationally. That experience is part of why I care about mentorship that builds capability rather than dependency.

Have one focused question? Start with the Engineering Clarity Call. For a technical problem or decision that needs deeper analysis, use the Technical Problem & Decision Review. For connected work and development over several sessions, choose the Engineering Growth Sprint.

Sessions with Soheil Alizadeh

  • Technical Problem & Decision Review (60 min): Bring one technical problem or decision that deserves deeper analysis. Send relevant context before the session if possible: architecture, constraints, code, logs, options you’re considering, measurements, or what you’ve already tried. We’ll first establish what problem actually needs to be solved. Then we’ll work through the evidence, constraints, trade-offs, and viable options. You’ll leave with a clearer decision and concrete next steps. This can include architecture and system design, Kubernetes and platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, observability and reliability, distributed systems, production troubleshooting, or AI-agent engineering.
  • Engineering Growth Sprint (60 min): Use this when you want to materially improve how you engineer, not just get an answer to one question. This can fit someone trying to break into engineering, move from support or operations into software, platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, build stronger fundamentals early in their career, or develop stronger technical judgment and ownership as an experienced engineer. Across three weekly sessions, we’ll first understand where you are, what you’re trying to achieve, and what is actually limiting you. Between sessions, you’ll apply what we discuss through real work, learning, decisions, or experiments. In the following sessions, we’ll review what happened, challenge the reasoning, work through new problems, and adjust the next step. The goal is stronger engineering judgment, systems thinking, problem solving, and independence—not completing a generic roadmap. The three sessions are connected and build on one another; this is not three unrelated calls.
