UX Interaction Designer at Google
Hi! I’m Sonia Song, a UX designer at Google Cloud, where I drive UX for complex enterprise products. My work blends system thinking, data-heavy workflows, and AI-powered experiences. I previously worked at VMware and Autodesk, with a background in psychology, information science, and design.
Over the years, I’ve led cross-functional projects, mentored junior designers informally, and contributed to the design community through judging, writing, and award-winning projects (Red Dot, C2A Best of Best, etc.).
I’m applying to be a mentor because I believe strong mentorship can make a real difference—especially for designers navigating early career uncertainty, transitioning into enterprise UX, or growing their product thinking.
“Had a really great convo with Sonia about how it is navigating a UX career (also dabbled into what are relevant skills for designers these days). Super helpful and she's someone I highly rec to chat w/ (super kind w/ all of my qs)! :))”
“Amazing mentorship session with Sonia! She is super insightful and share so much about her experience working in the enterprise ux space. Also super helpful, answer so many of my questions regarding early career growth as a junior designer.”
“Sonia is an amazing mentor, professional, kind, and incredibly sharp. When I shared my case study with her, she quickly identified the key problems and offered detailed, actionable feedback on how to strengthen my work. Her insights were spot-on and truly eye-opening. I highly recommend booking a session with her, you’ll leave inspired and equipped with a refreshed design mindset!”
