About Steven Smith

Senior Design Manager at Realtor.com

After several, arguably misspent post-college years in NY performing improv and sketch comedy, I earned my MFA in design at the School of Visual Arts and tipped headlong into my design career. I've worked at agencies and on dedicated product teams, most recently helping to scale the practice of Human-Centered Design at USAA. In that work, including teaching undergraduate design at St. Edward's University and helping to develop programming with AIGA Austin, I discovered a passion for coaching and 1:1 personal and professional development. I like design, but I love supporting individuals to do their best work. ✨vibes✨

I'm a serial hobbyist, dabbling in everything from sewing and making ice cream to modular synths and creative coding. During Quar I started learning to speak Spanish and play the piano. I'm still very bad at both! My S-tier, desert island, you'll-have-to-pry-these-hobbies-from-my-cold-dead-hands are gardening/unhinged plant propagation, reading weird sci fi, listening to hyperpop and practicing anything that could be classified as fiber arts (just imagine me as any Austenian protagonist, patiently refining my weaving and embroidery skills, while engaged in debate with rich suitors that just moved to the county and you'll understand the whole vibe).
