VP UX Design at AllianceBernstein
Susan Culkin is an instructor at Nashville Software School, a mentor at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and Senior UX Designer at AllianceBernstein. As a UX Designer, Susan Culkin has worked with IBM, Deloitte, and AllianceBernstein, as well as numerous small companies and start-ups. She has built high performing teams and established interaction design and development practices, both in-house as a consultant. Susan works to build better methods, practices, and processes to raise the strategic value of design and user experience. She seeks to build the solutions we didn’t know were possible. She also is co-founder and Board member of the Nashville Diaper Connection, which is on a mission to end diaper needs in Nashville's underserved neighborhoods. Susan’s unique mix of having one foot in complex projects and one foot in teaching keeps her engaged in the full breadth of the UX discipline. Susan is very lucky to have found the love-of-her life and built a large, extended family together — including two fluffy 80+ pound dogs. In a different world, she’d be a full-time glassblower.
