Senior UX Researcher at Microsoft
I am a Senior UX Researcher at Microsoft, working on Azure Cloud and AI products. I have 7+ years of experience in academic and product research. I also have experience with navigating multiple internships and converting them to full-time job offers. From my past experience of working as a developer, I bring in a diverse perspective for involving developers in the research process to maximize visibility and impact of insights.
I have a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Drexel University. My dissertation research focused on designing technologies to reduce delays and support teamwork in hospital emergency rooms. Outside of work, I like to explore national parks and cities, hike in the mountains, practice yoga, and watch TV shows – especially comedies and medical dramas. I am also a trained Indian classical singer and love to sing!
“Swathi Jagannath was a very thoughtful and helpful mentor. I really enjoyed the session and found her feedback clear, practical, and directly relevant to what I needed. She quickly understood my portfolio and resume, pointed out what was already working well, and showed me where I could improve the structure, storytelling, and visibility of impact.”
“The mentorship session was very insightful and helpful in understanding the pathway to pursuing PhD. I really appreciate Swathi for sharing her experiences and providing clear guidance on the academic and career opportunities in this area.”
“Swati was extremely supportive and encouraging throughout our conversation. She took the time to understand my background and evaluated my experience carefully. Based on that, she provided thoughtful suggestions on how I can position myself better for UX research roles in the current job market. Overall, it was a very positive and motivating experience.”
