How to think about design career paths and what progression looks like for designers?

Design career path

Strategic content design in collaboration with Product Designers from different squads. Along with UX Researchers and Visual Designers, I advocate for the high quality of design in the product process, positively impacting the platform's navigation.

Key responsibilities:

- Proposing and leading initiatives that aim to place design as a strategic pillar of product development. I'm currently planning metrics and experiments to prove the impact of Content Design for user experience. I'm also supporting the hiring process for UX Writing Cross team growth;

- Collaborating with Product Designers in the crafting and validation of useful, concise in-app texts aligned with the business strategy (error/success messages, alerts, user onboarding, transactional e-mails, and notifications);

- Reviewing research plans for content hypothesis and validation tests;

- Translating in-app content into English and Spanish, seeking to simplify the language for US and Latin American audiences;

- Facilitating naming brainstorms to generate feature and product names, evaluating them technically;

- Created the Product Writing Guide as part of the Design System. Now, my team works on its evolution developing new instructional chapters with fundamental heuristics for consistency and content quality;

- Collaborated for the publication of the first version of the Product Terms Glossary and created the material update process;

- Tools and methodologies: Mural; Figma; Appcues; Mixpanel; Design Thinking (Double Diamond); Design and Writing Heuristics; Agile; Asana.

Cross role, applying good practices along User Research and Visual Interaction disciplines in the product development process in order to guarantee communication consistency and the best user experience to Blip users (www.blip.ai). Main activities:

- Responsible for product microcopy and transactional copy (e-mails and tooltips) in Portuguese, Spanish and English languages;

- Creation and improvement of guidelines (Voice and Tone, Style Guide, Glossary);

- Pairing with Product Designers of all tribes and squads, for features prototyping and opportunities mapping of content testing to compose the research plan;

- Pairing with UX Researcher to review research plans and identify content validation opportunities, as A/B test, close test and card sorting;

- Tracking user tests to validate content;

- Interface with Customer Support, Branding and Community departments.

3+ years of experience as a communications analyst for Serasa Experian DataLab. I was responsible for structuring communication processes with different areas of corporate communications and events, as well as organizing hackathons, meetups, managing social media and curating texts for Medium.

- Created and managed the social media profiles (Instagram and LinkedIn) of DataLab, producing content and scheduling posts;

- Coordinated many projects, such as Summer Job, where I was responsible for the visual identity of the program in 2018 and 2019, plus planning the communications schedule and producing content for DataLab's social networks. More than 100 entries were received from all over the country, without using paid media;

- Organized and staffed the Experience Jam 2017 and 2018, a Hackathon with 400+ attendants in each edition (experiancejam.com.br);

- Created the meetup schedule and managed suppliers' contract to broadcast lives on YouTube (2000+ views and 20+ speakers);

- Responsible for information architecture, copy and microcopy of DataLab's new website (serasaexperian.com.br/datalab).

- Managed a 5-people team working in support, training application, new systems implementation projects, new hotel openings and rebranding and commissioning of sales channels (all 250 South America hotels);

- Planned and executed initiatives to engage teams from South American hotels on issues such as digital and cultural transformation. It was 3 events (brocasted online) and at least 400 people reached, resulting in action plans that guaranteed teams engagement;

- Internal award (Bernache Award) for the performance in those 3 events and success on digital and cultural transformation initiatives.
