Hi, I’m Tsvetina. I’m a business, data and AI transformation consultant and former Chief Data Officer. Throughout my career, I’ve built and managed multidisciplinary teams and hired people with very different backgrounds: from Product Managers, Data Scientists and Data Engineers to Data Architects and other emerging data profiles.

My own journey into data and AI is actually a good example of why I believe careers shouldn’t always be defined by existing job titles.

When I first moved into AI consulting, I didn’t have a predefined “AI” job title to search for. I knew what I was good at, the value I could bring, and the kind of problems I wanted to solve, but I wasn’t looking for a specific title or job description. I found a company that was interested in that combination of skills and potential.

When I asked what my title and responsibilities would be when joining, the answer from HR was: “We want to hire smart people first, and then worry about what they’re going to do.”

That experience has stayed with me. It shaped the way I think about careers, especially in data and AI: sometimes the most interesting opportunity is not a job you can find by searching for the right keyword. Sometimes you need to understand your strengths, the value you can create, and the problems you want to solve, and then find, or even create, the role around them.

As a mentor, I want to help people build their careers in data and AI regardless of their current profile or job title. I’m particularly interested in helping mentees explore possibilities beyond traditional career paths and think about roles that may not even have a name yet.

I believe there is a growing need for a role at the intersection of business and technology: someone who can understand the business problem and expected value, shape the strategic direction, and connect it to data, technology and operational execution.
