About Valentin Manaila

Software Engineer at Schneider Electric

Hi there 👋

My name is Valentin - I am an Architect 🏛️ turned Software Engineer ⌨️.

Started out as self-taught in 2021, I then completed bootcamp in London in April 2022. Currently happily employed (as of May 2023) - as a software engineer and received my first promotion in this new career too! 🎉

Soon after completing the bootcamp (BrainStation) I was asked to become a mentor for them. I regularly attend events and I am invited to take part in Q&A sessions at their Shoreditch campus in London with the goal of helping potential career changers like myself. I share my story with them and answer their questions.

You can also find me at tech meet-ups in London. I regularly attend React Advanced London, Svelte Society, London Js, VueJs meet-up, LNUG.

I would describe myself as a maker and life-long learner. I enjoy designing and making physical/ digital things and am always curious. Will start a Product Management course this summer - and I'm very excited about it.

During the bootcamp I was also teaching and helping my fellow students with the basics of web development since I had some self-taught experience. Throughout my career as an Architect I have also taught drawing and mentored work experience students considering a career in Architecture.

Get in touch if you are considering a career change into software development.
