About Wii Yatani

Principal Product Designer at Slack, ex-Spotify

*currently taking a break. If we've chatted in the past, please message me and happy to schedule something ad-hoc. πŸ™

Hi everyone! I'm Wii. I’m currently a Principal Product Designer at Slack and based in New York. Previously, I spent 6 years at Spotify and a few NYC based design agencies.

I'm incredibly passionate around the intersection of thoughtful, data-driven design, innovative technology and a sharp business strategy. I’m equally passionate about the craft – the finely executed details that go into making a delightful and memorable experience for a user.

Mentorship is so important to me. To give a younger designer guidance and advice as they navigate this industry and being there for them as a support system is something I take very seriously. Excited for ADPList!

What mentees say

β€œThank you Wii for the encouraging session. I changed my topic of discussion at the very last moment and Wii was very helpful in providing me with actionable and encouraging feedback. I found him very approachable and friendly and open to talk. He listened to me patiently and gave inputs understanding where I needed the most. I really appreciate him spending his time to talk to me.”

Satabdi Biswas, Senior Product Designer at Bolt

β€œAs a graphic designer-turned-product designer, I had questions about what areas to work on to bridge the gap. And, of course, I had questions about the job hunt. Wii was very articulate, insightful, and empathetic in his responses!”

Sona Bang, Product Designer at Ventive

β€œWii is a great mentor and teacher. During my sessions with Wii, he always gave very clear and constructive feedback on where I can improve. He also provides real-world examples and problems, which allowed me to learn even faster. Wii is approachable and genuine, and I appreciate all the advice he has given me during our sessions.”
