As a Design Lead for the Cloudscape design system. I oversee the design direction and execution for new patterns and components for over 250 services used by millions of customers, including open-source projects. Focusing on creating scalable, user-centric design solutions that drive innovation and improve user experiences across the AWS ecosystem.

Led all design decisions for the core apps. Created a scalable design system, implemented UX research processes, and instilled a user-centered and data driven focus in all design decisions within the product team. I prioritised experience improvements, designed and tested through to release. I gathered research, monitored improvements and flows, refining them to increase engagement. Worked closely with third parties to integrate new solutions into our systems, adding value for users and fostering a collaborative environment to continuously gather feedback and iterate.

Head of UX and UI. Building a UX team including putting processes in place to improve efficiency and leading projects.

I took the lead in the UX research and design and the digital journey of products. Working on web apps and products as well as e-commerce sites and marketing sites for large international brands.

This role was to create digital pattern libraries for web apps and sites. and also take the lead in the user centric approach to UX design including the user journeys, persona and information architecture for projects. As well as developing the front end templates and prototypes to the latest web standards.

My role involved developing sites in HTML5 and CSS3 to the latest standards with a focus on accessibility and progressive enhancement. I was also the UX / UI designer, completing UX research
design for web products and apps and the project management and scoping of projects. I created responsive sites, worked with code ignitor and wordpress to create CMS solutions, whilst making use of basic php and working with views and includes. We use Git as version control, develop in a vagrant environment and use terminal daily. Taking Designs from Fireworks / Photoshop files and developing them into HTML5 and CSS3 using latest standards including sticking to W3C Web Content Accessibility guidelines, fully browser testing and ensuring final code is accessible and semantic and with the use of BEM and SMACSS Modular code approach aiming to make reusable and future proof code. To speed up development we used SCSS and also inuit to develop responsive solutions.
