About Zulqarnain Ansari

Founder & CEO, UX Strategy for SaaS & Fintech at ExpertsDesk | UX Design Studio

I help founders, investors, product teams, students, and career changers create, evaluate, and grow AI-powered products that people understand, trust, and adopt.

I’m the founder of ExpertsDesk, Pakistan’s first UX design studio, with 25+ years of experience across SaaS, fintech, enterprise, and AI products in the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

I can help with: • AI product strategy and UX • AI workflows, trust, and adoption • SaaS conversion and fintech UX audits • AI product and investment evaluation • Investor pitches and demo readiness • UX portfolios and career transitions

You may be: • A founder adding AI without a clear user problem • An investor assessing usability and market readiness • A team simplifying a complex AI experience • A student or career changer entering UX or AI • A designer aiming for a senior or leadership role

The challenge is rarely technology alone. It’s often the missing link between AI capability, user needs, trust, and business value.

I’ll help you find meaningful AI use cases, uncover adoption gaps, strengthen your product story, evaluate opportunities, and build a clearer career path.

Sessions with Zulqarnain Ansari

  • Pitch-Ready: UX Review Before Your Investor Demo (30 min): Investors don't just fund your numbers, they react to your product experience in the first 90 seconds of a demo. If your UX feels clunky, confusing, or unfinished, it quietly undermines the story you're telling about execution. This session stress-tests your product through an investor's eyes before you're in the room. What we'll cover: - Live walkthrough of your demo flow or pitch product screens - Identify what signals "execution risk" to a sharp investor - Tighten the narrative arc of your product walkthrough (what to show first, what to skip) - Spot UX gaps that contradict your pitch deck claims Who this is for: Founders and product leads prepping for a seed, Series A, or accelerator demo day, who want their product experience to reinforce their pitch instead of raising silent doubts. What you'll leave with: A tightened demo flow, a short list of fixes worth making before the pitch, and language to preempt UX-related investor questions. For: investor demo prep, pitch deck UX, startup demo day, fundraising UX review, founder pitch coaching, product walkthrough strategy, seed round prep, Series A demo, UX for investor pitches, startup storytelling, demo flow optimization, accelerator prep, founder UX coaching, pitch readiness, execution risk signals
  • Portfolio Review for Senior UX Roles (30 min): Most portfolio reviews tell you what looks pretty. This one tells you what gets you hired at the senior level, where hiring managers are evaluating strategic thinking, not just visual polish. I've reviewed hundreds of portfolios and led design hiring myself, so this is from the other side of the table. What we'll cover: - Review 1 case study in depth (send ahead of time if possible) - Evaluate how well you communicate problem framing, decision-making, and business impact, not just final screens - Identify gaps that read as "junior" even with strong visual work - Tactical fixes: structure, narrative, what to cut, what to add Who this is for: Mid-level to senior designers and UX researchers targeting leadership, staff, or principal-level roles, or anyone whose portfolio gets views but not callbacks. What you'll leave with: A clear, prioritized edit list for your portfolio and a sharper sense of how to talk about your work in interviews. For: UX portfolio review, senior UX designer, design leadership hiring, portfolio feedback, case study review, UX career growth, principal designer portfolio, design hiring manager perspective, interview prep design, UX job search, design career coaching, portfolio critique, staff designer roles, UX strategy interview, product design portfolio
  • AI Design Lab (40 min): AI Design Lab is a 4-week recurring mentorship session for designers who want to confidently integrate AI into their creative process. Each week, you’ll explore a new step in the AI-powered design workflow through practical demonstrations, guided exercises, & open discussion. You’ll learn how to use AI for research, ideation, content creation, visual exploration, prototyping, & improving everyday design workflows. Week 1: AI Foundations & Prompting Understand AI tools, prompting techniques, & how to communicate your design intent effectively. Week 2: Research & Ideation Use AI to analyze problems, explore user needs, generate ideas, & develop stronger creative directions. Week 3: Design & Prototyping Turn ideas into user flows, content, visuals, & prototypes with the support of AI. Week 4: AI-Powered Design Workflow Build a practical, repeatable workflow that combines your design thinking with AI. Each session will include a weekly challenge. You’ll return the following week with your work, share what you learned, receive feedback & improve it. Please join only if you can attend all four sessions & commit to completing the weekly exercises. By the end, you’ll have a clearer AI workflow, practical experience, & the confidence to use AI as a creative design partner.
  • Mentorship Session (30 min): General mentorship
  • SaaS/Fintech UX Audit (Quick Diagnostic) (30 min): Your product looks finished, but something's leaking. Signups stall, trials don't convert, users churn after onboarding, and you can't tell if it's a UX problem or a positioning problem. This session is a fast, focused diagnostic, not a generic design review. What we'll cover: • Walk through your live product or key flow (onboarding, dashboard, checkout, or core feature) • Identify the top 2 to 3 friction points killing conversion or trust • Flag quick wins vs. deeper structural issues • Business-impact framing: what each fix is likely worth, not just "this looks off" Who this is for: Founders, PMs, or design leads at SaaS or fintech companies who suspect UX is costing them conversions, signups, or retention, but need a second pair of expert eyes before committing budget or roadmap time to a fix. What you'll leave with: A prioritized list of friction points and a clear next step, whether that's a quick internal fix or a case for a deeper audit. Related to SaaS UX audit, fintech UX review, conversion rate optimization, product UX diagnostic, onboarding friction, dashboard usability, user drop-off analysis, B2B SaaS design, fintech product design, UX consulting, conversion UX, startup UX review, design audit for founders, UX strategy session, trust signals UX

What mentees say

“Zulqarnain reviewed my portfolio from a hiring team's point of view. In 30 minutes he found what was stopping recruiters before they read anything: a password on my portfolio, no people in my case studies, and resume links that didn't work. Practical, direct and generous with his time. Highly recommended.”

Anna Liu, Product designer
