Best Mentorship Platforms in 2026: An Honest Comparison
There is no single best mentorship platform. There is a best one for how you want mentoring to work, and the options split into four groups that get lumped together and shouldn't be. Some are free and open to anyone. Some charge a monthly fee for ongoing access to a private mentor. Some run a structured program with a start and a finish. And some are software a company buys to run mentoring for its own staff.
How to Read This Comparison
Two questions sort almost every option.
Who pays, you or your employer? Consumer platforms, free or paid by you, work very differently from enterprise software bought by a company and rolled out to staff. If nobody at your company is running a program, the enterprise tools below are not for you, however good they look.
Do you want to choose your mentor, or be matched into a program? An open marketplace lets you browse, read reviews, and book whoever fits this week. A structured program assigns you a mentor and a curriculum with a finish line. Neither is better. They suit different people.
Which One Should You Pick?
Find your situation on the left. The platform on the right is the one we would actually recommend for it.

Free, individual mentorship
ADPList: The widest free option for tech, design, and product careers
- Best for:
- Design, product, engineering, data, AI, and marketing careers — junior through leadership
- Price:
- Free. No premium tier, no paid upgrade.
ADPList is free, and it stays free. There is no premium tier, and free mentorship sessions remain available to everyone. Mentors are volunteers who have gone through an application and review process, so free here does not mean unvetted. The platform lists 36,000+ active mentors, 790,000+ completed sessions since 29 April 2021, and people in 160+ countries completed a session in the last 12 months. You browse by expertise, company, or location, read a mentor's reviews, and book a free 1:1 video session on an open slot, usually within a few days.
It fits portfolio reviews, interview prep, career pivots, and repeat check-ins across UX and product design, product management, engineering, data, AI, and marketing.
Pros
- Genuinely free, with no paid tier to upgrade into
- 36,000+ active mentors, reviewed before they join
- You choose your own mentor — browse by expertise, company, or location and read past reviews
- Sessions are typically bookable within a few days
Cons
- Mentors volunteer their time, so availability and follow-through vary by person
- The most senior mentors book out fast
- Session-based, not a program — no assigned curriculum or guaranteed long-term pairing
Our take: If you want to choose your own mentors around specific questions and pay nothing, this is the cleanest starting point in the list. If you want a structured path with a set finish line, a program like GMI will feel easier. Browse ADPList mentors.
MicroMentor: Free business mentoring at global scale
- Best for:
- Small-business owners and entrepreneurs, anywhere in the world
- Price:
- Free.
MicroMentor is free for entrepreneurs and open to anyone, with 400,000+ entrepreneurs and 100,000+ volunteer mentors across roughly 200 countries. You create a profile and connect into an ongoing 1:1 relationship.
Pros
- Free and open to anyone, with no eligibility gate
- 100,000+ volunteer mentors across roughly 200 countries
- Built around an ongoing relationship rather than one-off calls
Cons
- Business advice only — no funding attached
- You find and vet your own match, so quality varies
- Not built for tech-career or design-craft mentorship
Our take: Great for small-business and startup operators. The wrong tool if you want design or engineering craft feedback.
SCORE: Free, but US small business only
- Best for:
- US small-business owners and founders
- Price:
- Free. US only.
SCORE is a nonprofit resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration, with more than 10,000 volunteer mentors offering free, long-term mentoring for the life of your business, plus free workshops and templates.
Pros
- Free mentoring for the life of your business — relationships can run for years, which is rare
- 10,000+ volunteer mentors, backed by the U.S. Small Business Administration
- Free workshops and templates included
Cons
- US only
- Centred on traditional small-business topics, not tech, design, or creative careers
Our take: If you run a US small business and want a mentor who sticks around for years, nothing else here matches it.
Paid, individual marketplaces
GrowthMentor: Flat fee, unlimited calls
- Best for:
- Founders and growth, marketing, and product people
- Price:
- $50/month billed annually ($600), or $85/month billed quarterly ($255). No per-call charge.
GrowthMentor runs on one membership with no per-call charge. You get unlimited 1:1 calls with 750+ vetted mentors, AI matching, and every call recorded and transcribed. If your first call is not worth it, you can get a full refund within 14 days and cancel any time.
Pros
- Unlimited 1:1 calls on one flat membership
- Flat pricing removes the is-this-call-worth-it maths that per-session pricing creates
- 750+ vetted mentors, AI matching, and every call recorded and transcribed
- Full refund within 14 days if your first call is not worth it, and you can cancel any time
Cons
- Narrower pool, concentrated in growth, marketing, and product
- Less depth in engineering or design craft
- About 85% of mentors are included in the membership — the rest are not
Our take: The best-value paid option if you are a founder or growth operator who will actually book several calls a month.
MentorCruise: The largest paid mentor pool, priced per mentor
- Best for:
- Tech professionals who want one committed mentor for the long haul
- Price:
- Set by each mentor — $70 to $260/month across the mentors listed on its homepage. Platform fee on top.
MentorCruise is a marketplace where each mentor sets their own price for an ongoing subscription, usually one to two calls a month plus async feedback, with one-off sessions also available. It has the largest curated pool of the paid options at 7,200 mentors, and every mentor offers a free intro call before you commit.
Pros
- Largest curated pool of the paid options at 7,200 mentors
- Ongoing subscription includes async feedback between calls
- Every mentor gives you a free intro call before you commit
- Strong depth in tech, design, and product
Cons
- Pricing and format are set by the individual, so the experience varies a lot from mentor to mentor
- A platform fee is added on top of the mentor's own rate
Our take: Worth the money when you have identified a specific person you want to learn from every month. Less predictable if you are shopping around.
Mentorpass: Premium, for funded founders
- Best for:
- Funded founders and e-commerce or DTC operators
- Price:
- Credit plans reported to start around $300/month and climb past $1,000.
Mentorpass sells prepaid credits you spend on 1:1 consulting calls with vetted senior operators. Its current positioning leans toward e-commerce and DTC founders.
Pros
- Access to vetted senior operators you could not otherwise get on a call
- Credits let you concentrate spend on the conversations that matter
Cons
- The high end of the individual market on price
- Wrong fit for anyone price-sensitive or early in their career
- Positioning is narrow — e-commerce and DTC
Our take: Justifiable when a single operator call can change a funded company's quarter. Not a career-mentorship product.
Clarity.fm: Pay by the minute for one question
- Best for:
- A single one-off expert opinion, mostly on business and startup topics
- Price:
- Per-minute, roughly $1.60/minute in its own example, plus a platform fee.
Clarity.fm charges by the minute for one-off expert calls, mostly on business and startup topics.
Pros
- Cheap for a single opinion
- No commitment and no subscription
Cons
- A legacy platform with little recent development
- Not built for an ongoing mentoring relationship
Our take: Treat it as a way to buy one conversation, not a mentorship.
Structured mentorship programs
GMI (Global Mentorship Initiative): Free and guided, if you qualify
- Best for:
- First-generation, low-income, or refugee college students near graduation
- Price:
- Free, but eligibility-gated.
GMI runs a free, structured program: a 10 to 12 session track of one-hour video sessions with a volunteer mentor, built around career planning, resume work, and interview prep. It reports 15,000+ mentors and 35,000+ students served across 150+ countries, with strong outcomes such as 74% employed within six months.
Pros
- Free, with a laid-out 10 to 12 session curriculum rather than open-ended sessions
- Reports 74% of students employed within six months
- 15,000+ mentors, 35,000+ students served across 150+ countries
Cons
- Eligibility-gated to first-generation, low-income, or refugee students near graduation
- Time-boxed rather than ongoing
Our take: If you qualify and want a path laid out for you, it is excellent. If you do not, or you want ongoing rather than time-boxed help, an open platform fits better.
Torch: Enterprise coaching, not consumer mentorship
- Best for:
- Companies developing managers and executives
- Price:
- Custom enterprise quote.
Torch sits at the leadership-development end: credentialed 1:1 coaching, many coaches are qualified psychologists, blended with an AI layer, sold to companies developing managers and executives.
Pros
- Credentialed coaches, many of them qualified psychologists
- Coaching blended with an AI layer for between-session support
Cons
- You cannot buy Torch as an individual
- Pricing is a custom quote, so there is no way to compare cost upfront
Our take: Worth knowing it exists. Not something you can sign up for yourself.
Enterprise Mentoring Software
If you are an HR or L&D team running mentoring inside a company, this is your category, and it is a different purchase entirely. Chronus, MentorcliQ, Together, and Qooper all do admin-run programs: algorithmic matching, program templates, milestones, and reporting, scaled by the number of employees enrolled. None publish public prices. Each is a contact-sales or request-a-demo quote sized to your organization. They are built to administer mentoring across a workforce, not to help one person find a mentor for next Tuesday. If that is what you need, skip this category and start with the free or paid individual options above.
What Changed in 2026
A few names that still show up on older top mentorship platform lists have moved, so you are not comparing dead platforms:
- Plato, once a standalone mentorship product for engineering and product leaders, was acquired by Coda (2024), which is now part of Grammarly's combined entity. Its original platform is winding down and its mentors page is deactivated, so we have left it out of the table.
- Ten Thousand Coffees went fully enterprise. You can no longer join as an individual. Access runs through a participating employer or school, so it belongs in the enterprise category now, not a free-individual list.
- Mentoring Club shut down after six years, so any list still recommending it is pointing at a dead link.
Methodology
We grouped platforms by who pays and how mentoring is delivered, then verified pricing, audience, and format against each platform's own current pages on July 14, 2026, and re-verified GrowthMentor and MentorCruise on August 19, 2026. For enterprise tools that do not publish prices, we say so rather than repeat third-party estimates. ADPList's own numbers come from a single approved source, ADPList in numbers, counted in production as of 21 August 2026: 36,000+ active mentors, 790,000+ completed sessions since 29 April 2021, and 160+ countries with a completed session in the last 12 months. That page states what each figure counts and supersedes any larger number in older ADPList material. We list each platform's real limitations alongside its strengths, including our own.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best free mentorship platform?
For tech, design, product, and adjacent careers, ADPList is the widest free option: 36,000+ active mentors offering free 1:1 video sessions you can book directly, with no paid tier. For small-business and entrepreneurship, MicroMentor (global) and SCORE (US only) are free alternatives. GMI is free but limited to students who meet its eligibility rules.
Are paid mentorship platforms worth it over free ones?
It depends on what you want. Paid platforms like GrowthMentor ($50 to $85 a month) and MentorCruise (roughly $70 to $260 a month) sell an ongoing, committed relationship with a private mentor, plus features like recorded calls. Free platforms like ADPList give you the same 1:1 access without the cost, but availability depends on volunteer mentors' schedules. If you want a guaranteed, always-available mentor and can pay, a paid marketplace adds convenience. If you want expert help at no cost, start free first.
How much do mentorship platforms cost in 2026?
Consumer options range from free (ADPList, MicroMentor, SCORE, GMI) to flat memberships (GrowthMentor from $50 a month), per-mentor subscriptions (MentorCruise roughly $70 to $260 a month), premium credit plans (Mentorpass from about $300 a month), and pay-per-minute calls (Clarity.fm around $1.60 a minute). Enterprise mentoring software such as Chronus, MentorcliQ, and Together is quote-based and sold to companies, with no public pricing.
What is the difference between a mentorship platform and mentoring software?
A mentorship platform is consumer-facing: you sign up as an individual and find a mentor yourself. Mentoring software is enterprise-facing: a company buys it to run internal mentoring programs, and employees take part through their employer. Chronus, MentorcliQ, Together, and Qooper are software. ADPList, MentorCruise, and GrowthMentor are platforms.
Is ADPList really free, and are the mentors any good?
Yes, it is genuinely free with no premium tier. Mentors are not random: they apply and are reviewed before joining, and each profile shows their background, session count, and reviews from past mentees. The honest trade-off is that mentors volunteer their time, so the most in-demand ones book out quickly and you may wait for a slot.
