Being part of ADPList means contributing to a global community where knowledge is shared generously and the next generation of designers can access support that might otherwise be out of reach. For me, it’s about practicing minimum viable mentoring—showing up consistently, sharing real experiences, and helping mentees navigate the messy realities of building a career. It’s a small investment of time that can create a lasting ripple effect for someone else’s journey.

I started mentoring because I believe in paying it forward and supporting the next generation of designers. When I began my career, I had very little guidance, so I want to help ensure that designers — no matter their background — have access to advice and support. Mentoring is also a way for me to help scale service design and strategic design thinking around the world by investing in the people who will shape the future of the discipline.

One piece of advice I give almost every mentee is this: don’t wait for permission to grow — create opportunities to practice your craft. The designers who progress fastest are the ones who stay curious, seek feedback often, and treat every project (even small ones) as a chance to learn something new.
