About the role
A Senior UX Researcher at Meta works on products used by billions of people — Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads — and the systems underneath them. A two percent regression is millions of people, so almost nothing ships without an experiment behind it. At this level you are expected to set direction for an area, bring partner teams with you, and be right often enough that people stop asking for the reasoning.
What you'd do
- Run research at a scale where every qualitative finding has a quantitative counterexample.
- Reconcile what a hundred people told you with what a hundred million people did.
- Own the research strategy for an area, including deciding what is not worth studying.
- Change a roadmap with evidence, and defend the conclusion when it is unwelcome.
- Raise the bar: mentor researchers, review study designs, and build panels and infrastructure other people reuse.
What they look for
- Experience pairing qualitative work with large-scale behavioural data without letting either one win by default.
- Five or more years of product research, with specific examples of work that changed a product decision.
- Rigour about causality, sampling and bias — and the ability to explain it to people who are not researchers.
- Comfort delivering findings a senior stakeholder does not want.
- The skill to turn qualitative depth and quantitative scale into one coherent story.
