Product Manager

About this interview

A spoken practice interview for a Product Manager role, run the way teams at Google are known to interview. You talk out loud with an AI interviewer for four to six questions, with real follow-up probes, then get an honest read on where you stand.

How this interviewer behaves: Classic product-sense loop. Push on user segmentation, prioritization, and metric definition.

About the role

A Product Manager at Google works on surfaces with a billion-plus users and decades of accumulated behaviour, from Search and Android to Workspace and Cloud. You inherit patterns you did not choose, for users who never asked for a change. At this level you are expected to own a feature end to end and be trusted with the craft, while direction is still set with you rather than by you.

What you'd do

  • Justify a launch that is good for users and bad for a revenue line, or decide not to.
  • Work inside constraints set by scale, privacy and legal review rather than around them.
  • Own an area: define the problem, write the spec, and ship it with design and engineering.
  • Choose the one metric that decides whether the launch worked, and say so plainly when it does not move.
  • Cut scope deliberately, and be explicit about what you are not doing.

What they look for

  • Analytical rigour, and the patience to build agreement across a very large organisation.
  • Around three years shipping software, with a launch you can describe in real detail.
  • Comfort with data: you can pull the numbers yourself, and you know when they are lying to you.
  • Writing clear enough that a decision survives without you in the room.
  • Judgment about when to move fast and when being wrong is too expensive.

This is a practice interview, not a job posting. ADPList is not hiring for this role and is not recruiting on the company's behalf.

What this interview weighs most

  • How clearly you structure an answer under pressure
  • Concrete detail: numbers, tradeoffs, what you personally did

How it works

  1. Pick an interviewChoose a company-style scenario or paste the exact job you're interviewing for. Product design, product management, portfolio walkthroughs and more.
  2. Talk it through out loudYou'll have a real spoken interview with an AI interviewer: 4 to 6 questions with genuine follow-up probes, just like the real thing.
  3. Get an honest scorecardFeedback calibrated to real hiring bars: where you stand across five dimensions, the moments that cost you, and your three moves to improve.
